Who We Are
We are a group of volunteers with an abundance of cat welfare experience who have cat welfare at the forefront of our work. We are seeking to help cats in need find a better, healthier, and happier life whilst maintaining support and education to members of the public.
Our Aims & Objectives
To try to relieve suffering for stray, unwanted and abandoned cats in the Lancashire area.
To provide them with any veterinary treatment they need whilst in our care.
To eventually find them safe and loving forever homes.
Fostering
East Lancashire Cats are looking for foster carers for our rescued cats, giving them temporary shelter, love, care, and some much-needed TLC while we are looking for forever families for them. By being a foster care giver, you will increase the chance of all our cats being rehomed, as it means we can free up spaces and give attention to cats who are poorly or may need greater medical and physical attention.
Fostering is not an easy role, BUT SO REWARDING and the greater impact is that your help and dedication gives the team a chance to focus on saving as many stray, injured or unwanted cats as we possibly can. The love and attention given by our foster care givers is INVALUABLE – it helps our cats readjust back into normal living environments and means that they can trust human contact again and feel what it is like to be part of a loving home.
We can’t promise that you won’t shed tears when your foster cat is ready to leave, but we know from so many of our foster carers that they are also happy and proud tears that all our cats who then go on to be adopted are given a loving forever family, which is the proudest feeling in the world and something every single cat who comes in to rescue deserves.
Transportation & Drivers
East Lancashire Cats need dedicated drivers who can assist with taking our cats for veterinary and medical appointments. Not all our cats are poorly or need medical care when they arrive, but all our cats are given veterinary access as standard and are treated for worms, fleas, vaccinated and neutered. By giving some time to take cats for veterinary appointments it means our rescue team can focus on helping cats who need more urgent care and attention.
Raise Awareness
The wonderful team at East Lancashire Cats are so grateful to ALL our AMAZING Volunteers who without their help and support would not be able to continue with this cause and pledge. We totally understand not everybody has the time to give, but would like to help us in other ways.
Simply by RAISING AWARENESS of who we are, and our cause, gives us a greater chance of receiving donations whether that is funding, or donating much needed items like food, bedding, carriers, and blankets.
